The Responsible Business Fund Plus (RBF+) has been officially launched, marking a significant milestone in supporting micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) across Myanmar’s agrifood value chain. The event was held at the Wyndham Grand Yangon Hotel, was attended by over 426 MSMEs, along with key development partners and stakeholders.
Funded by the European Union (EU), the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), and the Embassy of Denmark in Myanmar, RBF+ is designed to empower MSMEs by promoting economic growth, environmental sustainability, and responsible business practices.
The launch event commenced with a welcome address by Mr. Andrew Wilson, Managing Director of Inclusive Systems Myanmar. Keynote speeches were delivered by Ms. Gabriella Spirli, Deputy Head of Mission and Head of International Cooperation at the Embassy of Switzerland in Myanmar, and Mr. Anders Lønstrup Graugaard, Head of Mission at the Embassy of Denmark in Myanmar.
The RBF PLUS Team provided a detailed overview of the program, highlighting its objectives and expected impact on Myanmar’s private sector. The event concluded with closing remarks from Mr. Ranieri Sabatucci, Ambassador of the European Union to Myanmar, emphasizing the EU’s commitment to fostering sustainable and inclusive economic development.
RBF+ extends its sincere gratitude to all stakeholders for their participation and support. This initiative represents a vital step in strengthening Myanmar’s MSME sector and enhancing its resilience in the face of ongoing economic challenges.
